The Deagan Building
This tower is located in Chicago's Ravenswood neighborhood. The building is the historic home of the J.C. Deagan Company, which produced about 440 tower tube instruments. The company operated at this location from 1916 until the mid-sixties. The cupola once had an organ pipe hanging from the ceiling that played whenever the clock struck 12PM. I work on this section of Ravenswood, which was once heavily industrial. Today many of the old factory buildings have been transformed to house artist studios, apartments and offices. This painting will be for sale at the Ravenswood Art Walk.
